This Privacy Policy explains how O3 Holdings LLC (“Shega,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Shega app and related services. By using Shega, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
02Information We Collect
Information you provide
When creating or using a Shega account, you may provide:
- your name;
- age and date of birth;
- gender and matching preferences;
- phone number;
- profile photos;
- an optional verification selfie, used only to confirm your photos are of you and not stored after the check;
- bio and profile details;
- heritage, language, religion, or cultural preferences (optional);
- and messages you send through the app.
Information collected automatically
We collect limited technical information such as device type, app version, general usage activity, and approximate location used for matching. You can control location access through your device settings.
Purchases and subscriptions
If you buy a subscription or a one-time purchase, the transaction is processed by the app stores (Apple App Store or Google Play) and our purchase manager (RevenueCat). We receive a record of what you bought and when, so we can deliver and manage your purchase. We never receive or store your full payment card details.
Phone verification by SMS
We verify your phone number by sending a one-time passcode by SMS through our messaging provider. These messages are transactional. Message and data rates may apply. We do not sell or share your phone number with anyone for their marketing.
03How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- create and manage accounts;
- verify your phone number and confirm you are 18 or older;
- help users discover and match with others;
- enable messaging and interactions;
- maintain safety and prevent abuse, including screening photos, offering optional selfie verification for a verified badge, and reviewing reported content;
- provide and manage subscriptions and in-app purchases;
- improve app performance and user experience;
- provide customer support;
- and comply with legal obligations.
05Your Rights and Choices
You may request to access, correct, or delete your personal information at any time by emailing privacy@shegaapp.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under your local privacy laws, including the right to object to certain uses of your information. We respond to requests as required by applicable law.
06Account Deletion and Data Retention
You may request deletion of your account at any time in the app. After deletion, your personal information is removed within a reasonable period (currently a 30-day process), unless retention is required for legal, safety, or fraud-prevention purposes.
07Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information and maintain platform security. However, no online platform can guarantee absolute security.
08Age Requirement
Shega is intended only for users who are 18 years of age or older. If we become aware that someone under 18 is using the app, we may remove their account and information.
09Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new “Last updated” date. Continued use of Shega after updates means you accept the revised policy.
